Convoy of Hope

If you were in church this past Sunday (of course I mean this church) you heard an announcement about an upcoming fundraiser we are working on for Convoy of Hope. Convoy is one of the largest disaster relief agencies around, has feeding and education programs in many of the poorest nations in the world and does all of this with great financial integrity (only 4% of the monies given goes toward overhead – staffing, etc, 6% is used for advertising and the remaining 90% goes to the designated cause). I encourage you to check them out on their website – www.convoyofhope.org

Anyway, back to the point, a number of us are planning an offroad motorcycle ride thru Idaho this summer along the ‘Tour of Idaho T2’ trail. The plan is to ride the 550 miles of (mostly) offroad (approx 10% of the route is paved and, therefore, requires that bikes be plated for the road) route over 3 days. (July 16,17 & 18)

Why am I telling you this? So you can pray! Pray for the plan to come together smoothly. Pray about supporting this great cause (we are trying to raise $12,000 for their feeding program. They can feed a child for $120 for an entire school year! That’s just $10/month! – Less than some of us spend on ice cream ea month!) Pray about being involved – either riding (we are limiting it to 20 riders and already have 6 spots filled) or serving as support by transporting vehicles, setting up camp, tearing down camp, etc.

If you’d like more information feel free to PM me.
